Deriva Energy, a portfolio company of Brookfield Renewable U.S., who is a nationwide leader in sustainable energy provides wind, solar, resilient backup power, and managed energy services to over 1,000 projects across the U.S., with a total electric capacity of more than 5,100 megawatts of nonregulated renewable energy is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to be based in their Charlotte, North Carolina, headquarters.
This role will have key responsibilities in the data integration from the legacy financial systems to the new financial systems.
Post implementation this role will support, maintain, and enhance the Deriva Financial Applications working with the business and IT.The SBA would be responsible for day-to-day support/answering questions related to financial applications along with documenting requirements, configuring, testing, and deploying bug fixes or enhancements.
ResponsibilitiesEngaged in the buildout and implementation of the financial systems for Deriva.
This role will have key responsibilities in the data integration from the legacy financial systems to the new financial systems.
Work with and support/maintain an ERP, financial consolidation and reporting applications including but not limited to application configuration, troubleshooting of complex incidents and development of new featuresDevelop hands on knowledge of the ERP, financial consolidation, and reporting applications to investigate issues, identify root causes, recommend, and drive resolutions
Able to demonstrate a strong finance background and proficiency in the development, integration, and support of core finance systems and reporting services
Provide daily support to stakeholders on new requests or incidents related to the financial applications
Proactively communicate and collaborate with business system owners and end users to analyze information needs and functional requirements
Perform and review system configurations to ensure the configuration of the functional modules align with the designed business processes and perform updates as required
Act as the liaison between Finance, Operational business units, Technology teams and Vendors
Proactively identify areas for improvement regarding the financial applications and existing or new business processes
Facilitate the collection of business requirements, understand, analyze and translate them into system requirements, configurations and customizations
Competencies
Strong knowledge of core ERP enabled business cycles, specifically related to accounting function
Proven background in the development and support of ETL's and Reporting services along with deep experience work with data and financial application integrations
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; able to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations; ability to manage time effectively
Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
Ability to identify problems and deal with situations and issues proactively
Demonstrate a critical and creative mindset with all new requests received from stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and affectively with executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a conscientious, consistent, and thorough manner
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Functional experience with IFS, SAP Concur, and OneStream would be considered an asset
Qualifications
5 years of professional experience in a finance/accounting role or similar experience as a Business Analyst, serving mainly the accounting/finance group is required
Finance, Accounting, or related degree would be considered a strong asset
Computer Science experience with formal training in the areas of ERP systems would be considered an asset
Experience integrating financial data into a reporting data mart and developing financial reporting is considered an asset
