    Position Summary

    RSekure is seeking a mid to senior-level Research Analyst in the Bethesda, MD area. This role will perform duties at the direction of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and will access data from different sources with the goal of providing insight to DNI, including but not limited to Custom Reporting, Corporate Structure Analysis, and Key Findings of Foreign Influence. The associated reports will be supported by the data to ensure transparency in the reporting and findings. DNI is investigating potential risks to American intellectual property and threats to American National Security. This role will perform investigative searches on corporate entities, leveraging Craft's data assets, to uncover potential risks, with the desired outcome to 'prove' foreign influence within these corporate entities. The data analyst will perform these investigations and provide tangible, transparent reports that can be provided to the Department of Justice, Commerce, and the investigated company itself for mitigation steps.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform Data Analysis of Craft data sources and data schema, including Craft's API, Portal, and partner data sources, e.g., Pitchbook, CreditSafe, Strider, Bluefoot, Acuris, and Sayari.
    • Analyze Craft data sources to provide actionable reporting on foreign ownership, and beneficial ownership across the entire corporate structure; reporting may be on both people and corporations.
    • Access Craft's data platform, API, and other open source data platforms to interrogate each requested company.
    • Provide actionable insight to stakeholders based on data analysis and findings. Reporting will entail inspection of corporate structure, foreign ownership, foreign influence, foreign investor locations, adverse media, and regulatory infractions as well as patent theft risk. Reports will be provided within an agreed upon timeframe between Craft and DNI.
    • Travel not required.

    Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

    • Skill in identifying hidden patterns or relationships within corporate entities.
    • Skill in using BI tools to visualize data and exposed risks.
    • Skill in conducting queries on complex data structures (e.g. star-schema relational databases).
    • Skill in generating queries, reports, and data visualization.
    • Skill in producing actionable recommendations and insights based on data analysis, distilling results for a non-technical and senior audience.
    • Knowledge of Command Line protocols, preferably on Unix-based systems (e.g. Bash scripting, CLI tools, etc.).
    • Familiarity with corporate structures and relationships.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • 10+ years of experience in database administration or related positions.
    • Experience using Python for data science, manipulation methods, and reproducible analytics.
    • Experience working with APIs (REST and GraphQL).
    • Experience working with modern SQL variants that leverage nested data structures (Structs, Nested Arrays, etc.).
    • Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud data warehouse technologies.

    Desired Certifications and Licenses

    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) highly desired.
    • Other relevant cyber certifications (CompTIA Sec+, Net+, etc.) are a bonus.

    Special Requirements

    • TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph.

    Work Environment

    Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

    Physical Demands

    To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 5 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
