Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Medical Scribe will provide scribe support to physicians with various aspects of patient care in their respective subspecialties.
Medical record documentation will include history of present illness, past medical history, review of systems, physical exam findings, assessment and plan, procedure notes, lab and radiology results, patient instructions, level of service, and appropriate charge capture.
The individual must multi-task between accurate documentation and administrative duties as indicated.The Medical Scribe will be responsible for reviewing information with the physician at the completion of each documented outpatient visit to confirm accurate reporting.
The Medical Scribe may also participate in monitoring the completion of provider medical record documentation to assess for charts completeness and will send incomplete charts back to appropriate providers as needed.
The Medical Scribe will work in close association with providers assigned to the department and is a part of the clinical team.
Salary:
$23.86 Hourly

Preferred:
Knowledge of scribing in an outpatient clinic.
Detailed knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to distinguish different exams and medical diagnoses.
Previous experience with electronic medical records software such as EPIC, etc.
Knowledge of E&M codes and the level of documentation necessary for each billing level.
