    Position Summary



    Within Oceaneering Mobile Robotics, the Product Owner is ultimately responsible for the delivery and maintenance of a verified and validated product design. The Product Owner will coordinate their assigned development team, create product development plans, and track and report technical progress against the product requirements. The Product Owner will work closely with other organizational functions (Supply Chain, Quality, Project Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing) to ensure timely delivery of the product within budget and scope. The Product Owner is critical in balancing the technical possibilities against the product and business requirements.

    • Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required.



    Duties & Responsibilities




    • Operate within the Technology Governance Framework, deliver the product according to cost, technical, and business requirements.

    • Coach/mentor technical team members, manage uncertainty and conflict, keep the team focused.

    • Provide objective design direction to the technical team and manage the solution architecture.

    • Create, manage, and adapt development plans as new information arises.

    • Manage technical risk by leading risk assessments and trade-off studies.

    • Review engineering deliverables (third-party and/or in-house) and initiate appropriate corrective actions as necessary.

    • Where applicable, compile the product technical file gathering inputs from the different specialty engineers.

    • Report technical progress with relevance to customer / business requirements.

    • Appropriately escalate key decision points including the available options and risks.



    Qualifications



    REQUIRED


    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • 7-10 years of experience in development of complex products that contain mechanical, electrical/electronic, and software components.

    • Solid understanding of engineering processes, documentation, and data systems.

    • Proven decision-making ability and leadership skills.

    • Strong time management and analytical skills.

    • Experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams.

    • Experienced in leading a multinational team.

    • Good practical experience of risk management.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Well organized and able to manage large volumes of information.

    • Experienced in sub-contracting design and/or assembly/manufacture.

    • Experienced in developing products in accordance to safety norms (CE, UL/CSA etc).

    DESIRED


    • Master's degree in engineering is preferred.

    • Green belt certified in Design for Lean Six Sigma.



    Additional Information



    This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
