Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor or Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Computer Science. The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development and academic advising.
The Computer Science and Mathematics is one of the five departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a B.S. in Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Mathematics, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied and Computational Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science. The undergraduate program in Computer Science is ABET-accredited.
Job Qualifications
Prospective candidates must have earned a PhD in Computer Science from a recognized University and have an excellent publication record or excellent teaching record and/or industrial experience for the practice track. Recent graduates with exceptional academic credentials are encouraged to apply.
While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, the department is especially interested in candidates with research specialization in one or more of the following broadly defined areas: AI (e.g., Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data Computing, Computer Vision), Bioinformatics, and Systems (e.g., Networked systems, High-Performance Computing, Databases).
