    The Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) organization is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join an interdisciplinary team of engineers on various project assignments.

    The successful candidate should have proven abilities in electronic hardware design, support, testing, product development, and requirement specification development efforts.


    Roles and Responsibilities:
    Perform design and development of complex high speed digital circuit card assemblies integrating FPGAs and microprocessors through high-speed serial networks
    Take designs from concept through schematic capture, layout, assembly, debug, and production test
    Collaborate with peers and other engineering disciplines in the planning, design, and prototyping of complex digital systems
    Identify and implement risk reduction activities for your projects
    Interface with vendors and contractors
    Advise others through design reviews and implementation of industry best practices
    Work under general direction to independently determine and develop viable solutions
    Define system and CCA level specifications from dynamic, loose requirements
    Full time on site in Beavercreek, OH working with local and other remote teams
    Basic Qualifications
    Full custom circuit card design cycle (concept through production) experience involving FPGAs, DDR memory, high speed serdes, and microprocessors
    Experience defining interfaces with software teams for microprocessors/microcontrollers
    Hands on use of laboratory test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, function generators, DMM, BERT scopes, network analyzers and signal analyzers
    Ability to solder and modify prototypes to prove a working design
    Ability to create test plans and assembly instructions
    Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
    US Citizen with Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance

    Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronic Design Engineer:
    B.S.

    in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience or a PhD with 0 year's related work experience .

    6 year's related experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

    Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Electronic Design Engineer:
    B.S.

    in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 9 years of related work experience or a Master's degree with 7 years of related work experience or a PhD with 4 years related work experience.

    6 year's related experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Schematic capture and layout using Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools
    High speed digital signal integrity simulation using Hyperlynx, HFSS, or ADS
    Experience developing embedded software and software using C, C++
    Familiarity with AMD FPGAs and design tools
    Project leadership
    Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

    Salary Range:
    $97,500 - $146,300

    Salary Range 2:
    $121,000 - $181,400

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
