We are seeking a skilled Master Steel Fabricator to join our team at Engineered Systems.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified individual to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating steel components for overhead bridge cranes. Your key responsibilities will include reading engineering drawings, assembling parts, and ensuring high-quality welds in various positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and Plan: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to plan your work effectively.
• Assemble and Secure: Use precision tools like tape measures and squares to position and secure parts with accuracy.
• Cutting: Utilize various cutting tools such as saws and torches to shape materials efficiently.
• Adjust Equipment: Set up welding equipment to achieve the right flame or arc.
• Welding: Perform tack-weld or fully weld parts using different welding techniques.
• Versatile Welding: Weld in multiple positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.
• Smooth Finishes: Use grinders to remove rough spots and sharp edges.
• Inspect Work: Thoroughly check welds and measurements to ensure quality standards.
• Documentation: Complete quality documents and update drawings accurately.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep your work area clean and maintain tools properly.
• Teamwork: Work efficiently with a partner to meet deadlines and contribute to a collaborative environment.
• Safety and Quality: Adhere to all safety rules and quality standards.
• Freight Handling: Load and unload materials as needed safely and efficiently.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Welding Experience: Familiarity with MIG and SMAW welding techniques.
• Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Material Knowledge: Understanding of raw materials and fitting techniques.
• Measurement Skills: Ability to identify and measure materials accurately.
• Equipment Operation: Safe operation of cranes and forklifts.
• Tool Knowledge: Understanding of various machines and tools.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
• Instruction Following: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Math Skills: Basic shop math and conversion skills.
• Quality Focus: Consistently produce high-quality work.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic and dependability.
