    Job Title

    Foreign Language Curriculum Writer/Linguist SME (FRENCH)

    We are seeking initiative-taking, collaborative, and creative professionals for Foreign Language Curriculum Writing/Linguistic Subject Matter Expert (SME) positions.

    Candidates will work on cross-cultural, fully remote integrated teams with Instructional Designers, DoD clients, SMEs, military cultural and policy specialists, and other development team members to design an advanced foreign language course in an eLearning environment.

    This is a part-time position in Advanced Foreign Language Curriculum/E-learning design. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and may be located in the U.S. or overseas.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Contribute to writing creative lesson activities and practical exercises relevant to the dialect of the target language.
    • Collaborate with instructional designers to support language practice activity design focusing on receptive and productive language acquisition skills.
    • Design instructionally sound reading and listening activities to support scaffolded content-driven language learning with low-frequency terminology.

    Qualifications

    • Native speakers with applied linguistics backgrounds who have curriculum content creation experience for asynchronous advanced foreign language e-learning for adult, highly-educated military personnel and DOD-related linguists.
    • Working knowledge of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR), specifically at Level 2-3+, and Blooms Taxonomy, specifically at the Apply and higher levels.
    • Five years of experience in foreign language curriculum development and two years recent experience in advanced foreign language curriculum development for adult populations.

    Requirements

    • Experience in sourcing authentic text/audio materials at ILR level 2-4.
    • Professional and academic experience in online foreign language teaching/learning, curriculum development, and instructional design.
    • Basic computer skills applying Web searching skills for development-related purposes.
