    Description

    Interested in agriculture and enjoy working outdoors? KWS Seeds, LLC currently has an opening for a Agricultural Technician Lead located in the area of Tangent, Oregon. This position will be working under the direction of the Pre-Commercial Field Supervisor to execute cultural field practices according to recommended rates and procedures.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Execute cultural field practices which may include bed preparation, seed sowing, chemical/fertilizer application, and general field maintenance, irrigation management, swathing, and combining.
    • Record activity data according to regulations/standards and internal procedures.
    • Manage mixing, storage, transport and application of product.
    • Safely load/unload, secure, and operate field equipment.
    • Responsible for minor repairs and assists in coordinating equipment maintenance.
    • Perform and record daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes.
    • Ensure that the Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures, and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly.
    • Operate a company vehicle to travel from field-to-field, driving on average 75 miles each day.
    • Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business.
    • Meet attendance requirements.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Able to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicator's License
    • Must have or ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
    • Valid driver's license
    • Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc)
    • Demonstrated experience operating, loading and driving a loaded trailer
    • Experience in agriculture

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Basic knowledge of agricultural pesticides and weed identification
    • Bachelor's Degree in an Agriculture related field
