Job description
Product Educator is responsible for transitioning patients from the physician to the aesthetic treatment/retail area of the practice. This position works very closely with physicians to understand their preference of products and ingredients, to effectively relay to patients how these products contribute to their overall skin health. Knowledge of skin structure and physiology is essential to effectively explain product ingredient and treatment efficacy to patients. Continual training on product lines and ingredients is vital to remain relevant in the constantly changing field of aesthetics.
- Provide skincare consultations and product information to patients, assessing best products for patients' skin type and skincare needs.
- Work closely with physicians to understand their preference of products.
- Maintain storefront and product displays.
- Review of patient schedule for upcoming cosmetic procedures to contact patient (looking forward 2-3 days)
- OSHA compliance
- Attend staff meeting and huddles.
- Expert-level knowledge of all cosmetic products and procedures provided by our clinic.
- Provides education to staff on products and cosmetic services.
- Directly responsible for achieving sales goals for products.
- Responsible for all aspects of product inventory maintenance.
- In conjunction with marketing consultants, develop, maintain, and implement the practice strategic marketing plan, goals and objectives.
- Monitor website for skincare inquiries.
- Fulfill online and phone orders.
- Reconcile Alle points, run reports and contact patients who would benefit from current promotions or exclusive offers.
- Meet with skincare and procedure reps for education on new products.
- Conform to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Ensure patients proceed through the check-out process confirming patients have properly paid for all amounts that day and/or collect deposits and payments.
- Return phone calls in a timely and pleasant manner.
- Maintain continual training related to skincare and product lines in order to effectively educate staff and patients.
- Treat peers, supervisors, subordinates, patients and vendors with fairness, courtesy and professionalism and contribute to the overall positive work environment of the clinic.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- One to two years of sales experience preferred.
- College degree with emphasis on sales and marketing, or equivalent related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of skin structure and physiology preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures; dermatology or cosmetic medical office experience preferred.

- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, patient care driven clinical environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone and establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients and their families, physicians, staff and other customers.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work varying hours as needed by the clinic, including some occasional weekend hours (special events)
- Demonstrates high reliability through consistent punctuality and attendance.
- Computer literate with proficient Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to operate basic office equipment; phone, fax, copier, printer etc.
