- Repairs maintains, and replaces electrical components in accordance with BSD) work orders, equipment specifications, and state technical codes; makes appropriate decisions based on work experience.
- Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment, components, controls, and specialty systems.
- Evaluate work orders and identify materials and equipment required; perform maintenance and repairs within the scope of authority and in accordance with all safety regulations and BSD procedures; notify supervisor of safety hazards, equipment problems, and emergency situations.
- Supports departmental operations with regular and timely attendance
- Must have and maintain a cell phone for City use to hold this position.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Odessa and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Five (5) years experience as an electrician and completion of an electrician apprenticeship program.
- City safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- National Electrical Code and other applicable local and state regulations and codes.
- Methods, equipment, and tools used in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems.
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining electrical equipment and components.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
