    Description
    Primary Purpose:

    Leads and manages risk financing and risk control activities by gathering data and providing analysis to develop insurance procurement strategies of Sempra's comprehensive insurance risk transfer programs. Prepares cost/benefit analysis of alternative risk financing and insurance options and provide a recommended approach to management.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Leads insurance renewal activities, including preparation of underwriting submissions, negotiation, procurement/placement, and reviews for compliance of terms and conditions of insured and/or self-insured programs.
    • Leads and manages construction-related insurance programs.
    • Leads, analyzes, and negotiates contractual insurance requirements for contractors performing high risk work.
    • Works with management to establish "best in industry" processes, programs, and implementation of company-wide initiatives related to risk management and insurance.
    • Assist with drafting of various insurance related regulatory filing.
    • Works closely with business units to provide insurance support and training.
    • Supports the preparation of insurance budget and premium allocations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field, required.

    Experience:

    • 5+ year of experience in risk management and/or property and casualty insurance, required.
    • 5+ years of Energy and/or construction industry experience, preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Microsoft Office knowledge, including Excel, Word, and Intermediate to Advanced PowerPoint skills required.
    • Demonstrated ability in execution of projects.
    • Demonstrated ability in developing strong cross-functional partnerships.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
    • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
    • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
