- Supports - Aids residents with daily activities.
- Assists with self-care tasks like hygiene, bath, grooming, and daily dressing.
- Helps with incontinent care and related activities.
- Keeps records of intake/output and nutritional data. Helps residents with medication schedules.
- Assists in resident transfers and ambulation. Supports in admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Assists - Supports with light housekeeping and laundry.
- Maintains cleanliness in resident rooms, offices, and common areas by cleaning and disinfecting. Handles bed making, vacuuming, and mopping. Stocks supplies and manages residents' personal laundry.
- Prepares - Prepares and serves meals to residents; may assist in serving meals.
- Prepares and serves food / beverages. Takes meal requests and delivers them.
- Engages - Provides emotional support and assists families.
- Communicates effectively with residents/families to build positive relationships. Listens empathetically to address resident concerns.
- Respects resident rights.
- Promotes - Encourages resident engagement in activities directed by the Life Enrichment Director. Assists in activity facilitation.
- Understands residents' needs and interests. Executes daily activities planned by the Personal Care Manager. Provides guidance in classes and reminds residents of appointments.
- Maintains - Keeps updated on correct procedures for resident care tasks.
- Specializes - If assigned to Skilled Care, offers specialized services:
- Aids in elimination procedures. Uses specialized equipment and restrains residents when necessary. Collects specimens and performs clinical duties as needed.
- Provides - Provides administrative help such as answering calls, record keeping, and participating in resident care planning.
- Performs - Other assigned duties as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Georgia.
- Proficient in written and verbal English.
- Prior experience in a retirement community is a plus.
- Current CPR and/or First Aid certification required.
- Capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, bending, stooping, and standing/walking for most of the work hours.
