    Description
    Principal Gifts Officer Position Highlights:
    This position is a critical frontline fundraising role in the Foundation; responsible for generating significant philanthropic revenues annually by developing and managing a portfolio of 7-figure prospects and donors. The position will focus on high-priority institutional projects, securing gifts to advance them, by working with Sr. Leadership in the Foundation, the faculty, Board of Directors, and community leaders. Responsible for achieving increasing financial goals as defined in the Foundation 10-Yr Plan.

    Responsibilities:
    • Prospect Identification: Work with Data and Prospect Analytics to identify viable prospects with 7-figure gift capacity. Work with Board of Directors to identify viable prospects. Conduct, own research and community outreach to identify viable 7 figure prospects.
    • Develop and Manage Prospect Portfolio: Optimize prospect portfolio and and prioritize effectively, developing strong donor relationships that result in consistent gift solicitations.
    • Develop Solicitation Pipeline: Develop a strong pipeline of gift solicitations, that support the Foundation's 10 year plan and build the donor base for future support.
    • Proposal Development: Work with Foundation Sr. Leadership to develop and approve funding proposals for donors that align with Institutional priorities.
    • Donor Relations: Ensure donors receive regular project reports and general communications from Moffitt leadership, the Foundation and project leaders, and are appropriately acknowledged, recognized and engaged.
    • Increasing Existing Donor Gifts: Work with existing donors deepen their commitment to Moffitt and to grow and sustain their giving.

    Reporting and Communicating:
    • Ensure the Foundation President and AVP for Individual Philanthropy Programs are informed, updated, and consulted on activity and progress

    Credentials and Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree within relevant field.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years in a frontline fundraising role with significant annual financial goals.
    • At least 7 years in an individual fundraising role working with individual donors and family foundations.
    • Knowledge of how to use data analytics to optimize fundraising portfolio.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate scientific concepts and data.
    • Proven ability to develop and sustain donor relationships and close multiple 7-figure gifts annually.
    • Knowledge and experience in donor relations best practices.
    • Ability to work in a large, complex organization and navigate multiple constituents to support work.
    • Weekend work required at times.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

    Preferred:
    • Master's Degree within relevant field.
    • Preferred experience in a healthcare or academic Advancement setting
    • Proven ability to develop and sustain donor relationships and close multiple 7-figure gifts annually
