Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to perform positioning of the C-Arm and patient and technical skills using the C-arm to capture images of the requested portions of the human body to help guide physician in performance on interventional pain procedure.
Position patient on OR table; set up equipment for optimum view obtain images specific area body requested by physician. Determine imaging needs patients reading orders instructions physician make exposures necessary procedures rejecting repeating any images do not meet established standards Use beam-restrictive devices shield techniques minimize radiation exposure patients staff Explain process reduce anxiety obtain cooperation Maintain safety preserve dignity patients Assist nurse providing care directed Participate Universal Protocol/Surgical Time Out actively listening responding confirmation correct patient procedure side etc Lead maintain appropriate radiation safety training competencies Assist monitoring methods exposure assure staff exposed least amount radiation possible Maintain radiological equipment badge use storage Troubleshoot problems C-Arm assure appropriate use equipment including lead apron use all staff OR Document fluoroscopy usage storage printing images determined physician request Follow principles aseptic technique performance duties Participate Quality Assessment Performance Improvement activities member team Effectively communicate physicians members team Accept performs role Radiation Safety Officer ASC Demonstrate competency perform additional duties two following areas Intra-operative Apply monitor principles aseptic technique intra-operative period assist communicate breaches immediately physician RN Pre/Post Op Assist RN preparing patient procedure identifying correctly updating medication allergy profile demonstrating competency keeping neat clean orderly following cleaning protocols disinfectant wearing PPE Function leader ASC performing preceptor new staff effectively communicate lead education regarding radiation safety function leader performing orientation striving independence success new employee complete portion competency assessments skills checklists Other duties assigned<
