Job Overview

The Take Up 3 position is an entry-level role where you will be responsible for operating a take-up machine in conjunction with the extruder. Common machines you may work with include the 6 Inch PVC Take-Up (BWP), (Heflin), (SCUPP).

General Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in English, bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Able to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads
Follow instructions and operate assigned machinery
Capable of lifting up to 45 lbs

Primary Job Tasks

Operate take-up and pay off equipment
Wind cable according to customer specifications
Use production orders to meet customer requirements
Conduct minor machine adjustments and repairs
Assist line operator with machine operations
Perform other assigned duties

Cross Training

Required to train on equipment within the workgroup
May need to fill in for more complex jobs when necessary
Rotate tasks to maintain proficiency

Quality

Conduct quality checks and maintenance tasks
Report any quality issues promptly
Adhere to company's quality procedures

Safety

Follow all safety rules and procedures
Wear necessary protective gear
Conduct safety inspections
Maintain work area cleanliness
Adhere to environmental guidelines

Physical/Environmental Demands

This job requires working in various temperature conditions typical for a manufacturing setting. Physical activities include balancing, climbing, lifting, and more.
