Job summary
We are seeking a Behavior Support Specialist in Westmoreland PA to use best practices and technology within a community-based setting to teach people with developmental disabilities how to acquire the physical intellectual emotional and social skills needed to live as independently as possible.We are looking for an individual who can handle the pressure of training in a public environment exercise patience work with a flexible schedule respond to crisis situations ingenuity creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods assistance supports for an individual.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing behavior support plans teaching staff to implement plans valid driver s license satisfactory driving record complete all state agency required training per state guidelines understanding commitment community-based supports persons disabilities knowledge local regulatory agency operations problem solving multiple priorities establish comfortable supportive relationship individuals receiving supports remain calm crisis situation present facts recommendations oral written form excellent verbal written communication time management skills cooperate licensee department staff inspection inquiry investigation.
