- Networking, Computer Security, and Databases - Understanding Networking, security, computer hardware, software applications, database structure, and data communication equipment.
- General proficiency in several areas of SONET, Transmission, Signaling, Traffic Analysis, System Security, Local and Long distance Carriers, LATA, Tariffs, and Billing Procedures.
- Understanding of data communications concepts including: Network Topologies, Protocols, and LAN/WAN Integration (TCP/IP networks and PC/Server technologies). General knowledge of wireless technologies.

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $76, $99,994.65
Technical resource responsible for performing enterprise network telecommunication planning, engineering, and the creation of required documentation to implement enterprise systems.
Provides level 2 or 3 network support on an after-hours on-call basis when required. Leads the completion of assigned telecommunication engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.Responsibilities
Technical Skills/Competencies
Theoretical Engineering knowledge:
Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytics, Modeling & Calculation (e.g., sym. Components, per unit, etc.), Understanding the Business Model
Experience/Application:
Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g., field experience, standardization, develop business case and defend in front of stakeholders)
Engineering documentation:
Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation, review, and approve engineering work done by others
Compliance Environment:
Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and Requirements (NERC, NPCC, ISO, PUC, etc.)
