Description
Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Duties
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2024. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be December 26, 2023 with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available.

The Optometrist is a specialty professional in the care of Optometry.
The Optometrist will evaluate and treat patients for any disease which need Optometry diagnosis and/or treatment to achieve palliation or cure.
The Optometrist will be available on a daily basis to provide consultation and care for our patients.The Optometrist will demonstrate the ability to appropriately and courteously relate to internal and external customers, maintain the confidentiality of patient/employee information, and to function and work in a safe manner, as well as demonstrating an on-going commitment to and understanding of the Medical Center's Performance Improvement program.
The Optometrist will demonstrate the knowledge of changes associated with ageing and principles of human growth and development possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data, and the ability to identify age-specific needs such as incorporating age specific factors, and needs into patient care activities.
Completion of an optometric residency training program is preferred.
Surgical Department strives to maintain a safe working environment, in which we identify and address issues and concerns as they relate to safety problems within Eye Section.
