    Responsible for organizing and coordinating all components of referrals, testing and related appointment/scheduling or preauthorization requirements, across providers, departments and partnered divisions within Summa Health.

    Post High-School level coursework in healthcare or related field preferred

    Experience & Training Required:
    One (1) year of experience in a Medical Office/Registration/Billing setting to include:
    Experience with insurance payers, front desk registration duties or related i.e. Medical Assistant, Biller, Registration staff.
    Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
    Computer experience - proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred
    Ability to manage conversations with third party vendors and insurance payers, on behalf of the directed patient care, to assist in timely and accurate services
    Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work reliably and with professionalism in a high-volume, high-demand medical environment
    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and e-mail. Prefer skills in using referral software, using health plan web sites and familiarity with electronic medical records
    Demonstrate skills in interpersonal communication to effectively interact in person and over the telephone with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel
    Able to consistently demonstrate excellence in and adherence to the attendance policy, timeliness and reliability
    Follow and implement all policy and procedures up to and including HIPAA and medical record confidentiality
