    Reporting to the HR Operations Supervisor, University Student Services ("USS") is seeking an IT Summer Intern. The selected candidate will participate in the basic development, implementation, maintenance, support, and documentation of a new workplace productivity platform. This includes but is not limited to the installation, modification, and testing of new applications, operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication devices, and productivity tools. Under guidance assist in gathering and translating business requirements into functional/technical specifications and designs.


    Specific Duties & Responsibilities
    • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with system configurations.
    • Assist in the setup, installation, and maintenance of computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining IT documentation, including user manuals, system configurations, and network diagrams specific to the Formstack implementation.
    • Research emerging technologies and industry trends to contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes and procedures.
    • Participate in weekly meetings and training sessions to expand knowledge and skills.
    • Perform basic administrative tasks in Microsoft 365 environments, such as SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications
    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Two years of related experience.
    • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and basic troubleshooting techniques.
    • Experience with computer hardware assembly, software installation, and system configuration is a plus.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Eagerness to gain hands-on experience and contribute to meaningful projects.
    • Have enthusiasm for IT and a passion for technology-driven solutions.
