- Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree; Master's or PhD degree in statistics, data or information science, information design, computer science, various quantitative social sciences, or other relevant discipline preferred.
- Previous experience working in a data-intensive environment, preferably in a research setting. Knowledge of some (not all) of the following is required: Python (numpy, scipy, pandas, sklearn, etc.) and/or R; developing ETL workflows/data engineering pipelines; MongoDB and Spark; relevant statistical inferential methods.
- Experience working with databases, data management systems, and APIs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to formulate options, develop and recommend solutions as part of a participatory set of work practices.
- Excellent oral and written skills and ability to prepare project documentation.
- Experience with developing and leading workshops and individual consultations desirable.
- Ability to work with HTML data, web scraping, and parsing scraped data a plus.
