    BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Test Engineer in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

    The BAE Systems Adaptive Communications and Sensing, C4ISR Systems business is the primary source of HF & VHF/UHF SATCOM Tactical Radio (TR) equipment for the US Air Force and Army. This team, based at Fort Wayne, Indiana, is responsible for the Architecture, Specification, Development and Analysis of Mission Critical equipment in support of over the horizon mission communications. Some aspects of this work are classified.

    The candidate will have a wide range of activities to perform from a Systems Engineering perspective. These activities include;
    integrating hardware and software on a tactical airborne subsystems,
    creating requirements for hardware and software development,
    assisting our military customers with BAE Systems product's integration and testing,
    diving into existing LabView code to resolve observed issues,
    creating deliverable documentation,
    and preparing estimates and technical content for multi-million dollar proposals.

    There are numerous subject matter experts that are available to assist when questions arise or obstacles are encountered, which will grow your expertise.

    The System Engineering group's activities include but are not limited to:
    • Able to develop test procedures and perform testing to validate product compliance
    • Detail oriented, managing large data sets as part of compliance analysis.
    • Technical writing skills describing product design
    • Processing Engineering Change Proposals ECPs
    • Ability to review product design for compliance to customer and government specifications
    • Performing integration, verification, and validation of Airborne Tactical Radios
    • Supporting product testing locally and at supplier locations
    • Supporting on-site customer integration at various military bases
    • Developing and updating specifications and test procedure documentation using DOORS
    • Following, modifying, and creating test procedures
    • Creating, updating, and releasing qualification test plans, procedures, and reports

    Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Engineering degree with 4 - 7 plus years of applicable experience
    • Successfully acquire security clearance of SECRET within 1 year
    • Familiarity with principles of Gage R&R
    • Ability to handle multiple assignments and work in a dynamic environment
    • Technical writing skills describing product design
    • Experienced with performing and composing test procedures
    • Experienced in production support / complete life cycle of a product
    • Proficient with (RF sources, Signal Analyzers, RF Power Meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc)
    • Proven use and understanding of test engineering concepts

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Experienced integrating a system containing multiple electronic sub-assemblies
    • Familiarity with ESS equipment (thermal chambers, vibration systems, and SQL databases)
    • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio (VB/C#) software development
    • Experienced / trained in MBSE
    • Proficient with MatLab
    • Experienced with DOORS
    • Experienced in LabView

    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $ $128340

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
