What We're DoingBecome a part of something IMPACT-ful Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The Work This engineer will work closely with the Software Factory team on GNI to ensure that various cloud infrastructure platforms are developed and operational for the customer (MDA).

Government security clearance of SECRET or higher is required, and work will be performed at both Northrop Grumman facilities and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Travel is required from Gateway to the Arsenal on a weekly basis using a personal vehicle, and fuel cost will be non-reimbursable by the government contractor.

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline preferred from an accredited university with minimum 9 years' related experience or Master's degree with 7 years' related experience
Active Secret Clearance required

DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex:
Security + CE)

Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Windows/Linux Operating Systems environments
Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
Experience and skills in agile software principles, particularly regarding building a plan or roadmap for multiyear program / product
Strong communication skills
Ability to write or review software code (Java, Python, etc.)
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices

Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the timeDesired Skills:

Experience with Application development
Experience with troubleshooting software containers and virtualization
Experience in networking with Cisco technologies
Experience in Information Security
Experience working with the DoD customer or in a classified software environment
Experience with Terraform and Helm charts
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies.
Experience with Helm Charts and Ansible Technologies
Experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others.
Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits and source-controlled management
Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts)

Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.)Security Clearance Statement:

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
