    Product Engineer, Battery Cell Mechanical - Forge Battery

    Forge Battery , our subsidiary, is seeking a Product Engineer to lead design into manufacturing implementation and ongoing responsibilities to achieve Performance, Quality and Continuous Improvement targets in cell product designs.


    SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    This role will be responsible for leading the product development through final design validation & manufacturing implementation. Administration of initiatives related to Product Engineering to meet customer & industry standards.

    Key areas of engagement include Engineering & Quality Systems applications, Customer Satisfaction initiatives, Best Practices sharing, Program Management and cross-functional engineering support with Core Energy Storage/Battery Design team & Manufacturing.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
    Prior experience working in a fast-paced, start up, and/or high-growth environment.
    3-4+ years of Engineering experience; specifically in Li-ion or Battery industry
    Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive success in Product Development
    Demonstrated history of exceeding design targets (quality, cost & timing)_
    Deep understanding and experience w/FMEA, DVP and Product Engineering disciplines
    Bachelor's degree in technical field (i.e., Engineering)
    Relevant experience in Li-ion cylindrical cell format & mechanical components design/testing


    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
    Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline or Business
    Six-Sigma and/or Shainin Red 'X' certified
    Exposure to environments practicing Lean Manufacturing
    Excellent written and verbal communication/people skills
    Demonstrated time management skills with history of complex cross-functional role


    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Work will be in an office or manufacturing environment.

    The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat.

    Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.

    TRAVEL
    Frequent travel (10-20%) may be required depending on current activities. Passport required.

    COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

    The hired candidate can expect to make between $90,000 to $100,000 annually. Final pay will be based upon relevant experience, skills, and education. Preference will be given to those candidates currently residing in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.
