    Set in the luxurious Adirondack-style Main Lodge of The Chatwal Lodge, Catskills, our Line Cooks are responsible for providing luxury culinary experiences.

    As a boutique, luxury property with 14 keys, the culinary team at The Chatwal Lodge is a tight-knit and dynamic group and utilizes team-style service each day. Candidates will be expected to participate in all areas of culinary. Interested applicants enthusiastic to learn should not be deterred; training in all areas of the culinary department will be provided to the benefit of expanding your skillset and elevating the service we are able to provide our guests.

    Candidates will be required for the preparation/ presentation of all food and ensuring superior quality and consistency for the Chatwal Lodge brand.

    Duties & Functions

    •Prepare all menu items according to brand standards.

    •Perform a variety of cooking techniques.

    •Portion food according to direction of Culinary Manager.

    •Perform all basic knife skills.

    •Carefully follow standard recipe preparation procedures.

    •Properly cool and store all foods to appropriate temperatures as required by state and local laws.

    •Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products to comply with health department regulations.

    •Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction.

    •Build positive relationships with team members and supervisors.

    •Shows commitment to teamwork, knowing when to ask or offer help to and from colleagues.

    •Exhibit ability to prioritize work and ensure immediate guest needs are met.

    •Assists the Culinary Manager and Culinary Supervisor with tasks requested.

    •Understand and follow sanitation practices as set forth by state and local laws.

    •Keeps station and coolers clean and neat during shift; properly prepare line for next shift.

    •Assist with preparation of other food products on serving line as needed.

    •Has complete knowledge of all items on menu, how to cook, plate presentations and portion size.

    Pay Range: $21.00-$23.00; this is a non- tipped role with an all-inclusive resort. Must be available to work a PM shift starting at 1:00pm.

    • Must have a High School Degree or Equivalent
    • Must have NYS Driver's License
    • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
    • Must be able to stand long period of time and walk long distances.
    • Must be able to bend, pull, push upwards of 50 lbs.
    • Must be willing to become First Aid & CPR Certified
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Deliver prompt, excellent service to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
    • Maintains current knowledge of the Chatwal Lodge culture, amenities, and services, events in the area, points of interest.
    • Maintain high level of cleaning standards and organization.
    • Provide prompt and efficient service in a timely manner.
    • 2 years of previous line experience preferred.
    • Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.
    • Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills.
    • Able to work multiple stations in the kitchen
    • All other tasks and duties as assigned.
