    International Fragrances & Flavors Inc (IFF) is looking for an entry level Engineer I for our Remington, IN Nourish site.

    The Associate Engineer will work as a key team member in the Engineering organization in Remington supporting production operations, continuous improvement, Process Safety Management (PSM) and capital projects.


    A successful candidate will provide process improvement and troubleshooting support and will also participate in and/or lead numerous divisional projects with local scope.


    The position is instrumental in capital project work from concept through start-up, process improvements, interfacing with operations & maintenance from shop floor through manager levels, and process safety management.

    Building proficiency in plant Automation and Process Control systems.

    Participation in PSM Process. Report monthly KPI (key performance indicators) metrics.

    Lead capital projects of varying size and complexity.

    Designing and execution of experiments to improve process performance.

    Working with plant operational teams to drive continuous improvement efforts.

    Supporting for new product and technology introductions to the plant, interfacing with others in the company.

    Monitoring and reporting on process performance trends, product cost and operational logistics.

    Cost, material, and efficiency studies and learning/understanding the impact to the business.

    Designing and development of operations protocols, processing equipment installations and plant upgrades.

    Developing ideas to improve overall plant performance using sound engineering sciences. Analyze data for ongoing operations to provide direction on upgrades for improved quality and cost.

    Troubleshooting processes and component level devices.


    Acting in compliance with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food/Feed Safety, Environmental, GMPs, and HACCP.

    Job Requirements


    Job requirements:
    Bachelor of Science in Engineering in discipline related to the process (for example Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical).

    0-5 years relevant experience.

    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

    AutoCAD knowledge a plus.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.

    Strong time management and organizational skills.

    Work within and outside of production facilities in all types of environments.

    Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and transverse uneven walking surfaces.

    Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
