    · Metro West: 13850 NW 41st Street Doral, Florida 33178

    Shift Details: Full-Time, 8 Hour Variable Schedule, Rotating Weekends

    Miami-Dade Corrections Health Services (CHS) operates under Jackson Health System (JHS) and serves approximately 5,000 patients daily. Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance.

    Summary

    The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), CHS works closely with the CNO, Directors of Patient Care Services and partners with medical staff leadership to coordinate and integrate correctional health services aligned with the strategic plan, mission and vision of Jackson Health System. The ACNO, CHS assumes full responsibility for monitoring and managing departmental productivity and finances, ensuring targets are met and exceeded. The ACNO, CHS effectively interprets, implements, and ensures all areas of responsibility maintain compliance with TJC, Florida Board of Nursing, CMS and AHCA regulations. In the absence of the CNO, the ACNO assumes responsibility for the entire scope of the CNO's responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Works closely with the CNO and administrative team to define and implement nursing's strategic plan, and ensures all areas of responsibility are fully integrated into the overall strategic goals and objectives. Partners with medical and nursing staff to implement and hardwire evidence-based practices. Collaborates with the nursing team and stakeholders to implement strategies for service line development.
    • Assumes responsibility for the growth and development and daily operations of departments or service/product lines assigned. Assumes responsibility for the development of budgets and monitoring and managing of departmental finances and productivity. Ensures targets are met and exceeded and reports findings monthly.
    • Effectively interprets, implements and ensures all areas of responsibility maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation body standards such as, but not limited to, TJC, CMS, AHCA, Florida Board of Nursing. Familiar with professional association recommendations with nursing practice and serves as a resource for the administrative team.
    • Cultivates and sustains a culture of innovation, continual learning and accountability. Partners with directors, medical staff leadership and others to drive and sustain positive change within the organization. Works with nursing leadership to continually improve employee engagement. Routinely reviews employee satisfaction results, turnover, exit interviews, and other metrics related to employee engagement. Has oversight of new employee orientation.
    • Participates in recruitment and retention activities. Contributes to the growth and development of the nursing leaders in the organization. Works in tandem with nursing education and maintains responsibility for new employee competency development and annual competency development. Leads the design and implementation of flexible staffing models that assure the provision of adequate staff to care for patients while meeting workforce targets.
    • Full responsibility for the ongoing improvement of quality and performance metrics for nursing including, but not limited to; core measures, hospital acquired infections, safety initiatives and the patient experience. Assesses, implements, and reassesses actions for effectiveness and prepares reports for internal reporting of results. Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). The leader understands and adheres to JHS compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct, Compliance Policies, and all other JHS Policies and Procedures and supports the commitment of JHS in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for health care providers by demonstrating knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family and organization information.
    • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

    Experience

    Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is required.

    Education

    Master's degree in related field is required.

    Credentials

    Valid Florida RN license is required. Advanced Nursing Administration certification is preferred. Leaders performing direct patient care are required to have a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
