- Adheres to hospital policies related to medication safety, including order writing format, correct administration considerations, double checks and other established policies and practices.

- High School diploma or GED
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Note: CCU & PCU: New graduates - within one year of employment)
- Healthcare Provider CPR - (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY)
- Medical Oncology: 1 to 3 years clinical experience with at least one year of oncology experience
- Cardiac Rehab: 1 to 3 years' experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation or equivalent, CCU or other Cardiovascular care experience
- Radiation Oncology: 3 to 5 years Oncology nurse in hospital or medical setting
- Admission Transfer Services: 3 to 5 years clinical experience in a hospital setting
- 3 North: NIHSS certification
- TBP: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (every 3 years) and : Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Medical Oncology: Biotherapy/Chemotherapy Card
- ECC: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Postpartum: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Special Care Nursery: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Resource Nursing: NIH Stroke Scale Certification (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
- Telemetry/Neurology: NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) examination completed
- CCU: NIHSS certification
- PCU: NIHSS certification
- 2 East: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Special Care Nursery: STABLE: blood Sugar, Temperature, Artificial breathing, Lab work, Emotional support. Certified upon hire or within 180 days of hire. Not required to renew.
- Radiation Oncology: Successful completion of Oncology Nursing Society OCN exam.

Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. He/she provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. He/she integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families through the continuum of care. The RN collaborates with others to integrate assessment and input of the patient, family and the interdisciplinary team. He/she ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision-making and problem solving. The RN integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
