Assistant Controller

Advintage Distributing is a fast-growing, multi-state beverage distributor and part of the Mitchell Companies family. We're looking for an Assistant Controller who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, strengthening processes, and helping scale a dynamic, inventory-driven business.

This is a hands-on role with meaningful exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, audits, and cross-functional partnershipideal for a strong accounting professional ready to step into broader leadership responsibility.

What You'll Do

• Support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations across multiple locations and entities
• Play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and GAAP financial reporting
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and complex accounting activity
• Help maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and special financial projects
• Partner with operations and department leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support audits, tax filings, and system improvements
• Mentor and support members of the accounting team

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
• 46+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience
• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or multi-entity environments a plus
• ERP experience required (Encompass or VIP a strong plus)
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Location: Professional office environment and warehouses; position is on-site in Ladson, SC. Occasional travel to Nashville, TN and Thomasville, NC is required
