    Description

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional service to all guests at Joel's Chophouse by preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders from guests and associates. The Bartender correctly prepares all standardized drinks using proper portions and ingredients. The Bartender prepares mixed drinks and provides appropriate garnish. The Bartender maintains cash and observes all sanitation requirements.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Complete the Opening Bartender Checklist.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
    • Serve the guest in accordance with the departmental standards.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, mixology recipes and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
    • Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of each wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
    • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests at all times.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor laws, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code of assigned outlet.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
    • Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
    • Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
    • Complete the Closing Bartender Checklist.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, associates, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
    • Performs all other job-related duties as requested

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Three (3) years of minimum experience in field and bar service experience preferred.
    • Must have a positive attitude with a good work ethic.
    • Able to speak with others using clear and professional language.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Cash handling experience.
    • Ability to operate a Point of Sales (POS) system.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be able to obtain a Health Card from the Southern Nevada Health District, as well as an Alcohol Awareness Card.

    PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
    • Will be exposed to various environmental factors such as CRT fatigue, noise, and dust.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • For Full-Time employees, expect to work an 8-hour shift on average, including weekends and holidays.
    • Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.
