    Our client is a major manufacturer in electrical equipment for power & utility based industries and are looking to hire a motivated Electrical Project Engineer early in their career to join their New Product Development team. This person will lead technical engineering projects for new products, electrically driven. This will be a design heavy role with project management on top of it.

    NPD Project Engineer I

    Position Summary: Support product realization through cross-functional team collaboration.

    Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for completing assigned tasks, assisting other members of the team, and helping to ensure project completion in accordance with the schedule.
    • Assists with completion of the Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements.
    • Creates and evaluate new product concepts
    • Assists with creation of the engineering test plan.
    • Assist with constructing and testing prototype components or assemblies as required in the development and approval process.
    • Support pre-test calculations and assist in test data review.
    • Assist with engineering analysis in design of new products and their subcomponents
    • Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis on the new and existing products
    • Write and/or approve project documentation (test reports, work instructions, customer manuals)
    • Interface with purchasing and vendors in the selection and approval of component parts and assemblies.
    • Provide Engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing on new and existing products and processes.
    • Give direction to supporting personnel such as Designers, and Technicians.
    • Follow established procedures for creation and maintenance of CAD databases and libraries.
    • Participate in the review of engineering drawings prior to the release to manufacture.
    • May perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical engineering.
    • 3 - 5 years engineering experience
    • Experience working on highly technical and involved projects.
    • Desire to be constantly challenged with new problems.
    • Basic technical knowledge in mechanical engineering, power engineering and/or electrical engineering.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical standards; understand and apply knowledge from technical white papers
    • Ability to effectively communicate
    • Ability to use small hand and power tools
