Description
Associated General Contractors of South Dakota is seeking a Director of Workforce Development who will work side-by-side with AGC of South Dakota members and staff to promote the many opportunities a career in construction can provide.
You will continue to grow interest in construction careers in youth and adults through providing traditional and non-traditional career pathway opportunities as well as short-term training opportunities through addressing member's workforce needs and collaborating with state and local stakeholders with an overall goal of addressing construction workforce issues in the state of South Dakota.
Role Overview:
Work with AGC of South Dakota members to help address their workforce needs
Meet with members regularly and follow direction given from board members and committees
Lead and recruit for involvement of the Human Resources Alliance
Work in collaboration with the training and safety personnel to Promote and inform members of AGC's training and safety opportunities
Develop reports and advise on all activities and budgets as needed for AGC boards
Plan and lead events geared at promoting career opportunities in construction
Construction camps
School visits
Career days
Summer Career Academy
Other events as assigned
Provide informative presentations to youth and adults
Collaborate with membership for community events
Collaborate with state and local stakeholders such as the DLR, DOT, DOE, DOC, Technical Colleges, Universities and Colleges, Economic Development Boards, Community Social Service Groups and other groups of similar interest in growing careers in construction
Be a voice for the industry
Coordinate with k-12 and post-secondary schools to ensure opportunities for individuals interested in a career in construction
Actively seek and administer WFD grants
Maintain and monitor the Build South Dakota website
Collaborate with staff to establish an effective social media presence
Manage scholarship activities and awards
Create and maintain a tracking system for prospects and candidates of programs, camps, and scholarships
Assist other AGC staff when needed and other duties as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Bachelor's degree and professional experience working with construction (preferred), education, human resources, networking, or training is preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS – Proficient in Microsoft, Zoom or other online communication platforms, design software (preferred), WordPress (preferred)
