**Job Description**

A Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the North40 store, product, carry-out, or freight responsibilities as assigned, and safeguarding company assets. Position Reports to assigned supervisor or Assistant Manager. The following are primary duties of the janitor:

Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

Run floor machine as assigned.

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.

Gather and empty trash around the store.

Clean front windows as needed.

Make store repairs as assigned.

Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Move heavy equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks.

Remove snow from sidewalks and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.

Maintain a friendly welcoming demeanor and a professional appearance.

Greet guests and communicate with enthusiasm and a smile. Offer assistance and refer guests questions to appropriate sales associates

Dedicated, dependable, and hardworking

Ability to work well with others; Team player

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Janitorial experience preferred

Flexibility to work within different areas of the store

Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. frequently, spend up to 100% of work time, other than breaks, standing and moving, climbing and kneeling on concrete or hard surfaces; use of forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders and rolling staircases. Consistent adherence to safety standards

Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques

Must be able to meet shift requirements, including working on weekends and certain holidays, between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7am to 7pm and 9am to 5pm on Sundays with flexibility in scheduling based on business needs
