    We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant responsible for accounting processes to support the financial management of Space Center Houston.


    Responsibilities and qualifications are shown below:

    POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES:
    Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
    Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, audit and research out of balance accounts.
    Review monthly variance reports from other departments and prepare necessary journal entries.
    Processes expense reports through Certify.
    Maintain all bank account reconciliations.
    Reconcile the donation accounts with the Development department monthly, quarterly and annually.
    Assist with the preparation of necessary weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports and analyses. (Daily attendance, Weekly revenue report, 7X5 analysis)Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting processes.
    Assist in the preparation of the Form 990.Assist with the preparation of the annual audit and schedules as assigned.
    Prepare U.S. Census Bureau reports and file electronically.

    Cooperate with fellow team members, accepting additional duties that may be necessary to ensure the efficient operation of Space Center Houston.

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
    A minimum of 3 years accounting experience and a bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. Non-profit experience preferred.
    Proficiency with automated accounting systems required with Sage Intacct experience preferred.
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
    Strong knowledge and understanding of financial controls and reporting with excellent analytical skills.
    Knowledge and understanding of GAAP.Ability to work in a team environment.
    Ability to manage multiple responsibilities by organizing and prioritizing work to meet required deadlines.
    Proven ability to make sound judgements and demonstrate effective decision-making with accuracy and attention to detail.
    Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise good judgement is required.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.


    Salary Range:
