Description

Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians. Performs routine diagnostic procedures and may be required to function as a Medical Assistant as needed. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organizations mission, values and culture.

The CHRISTUS Children's Hospital, established in 1959, was the first children's hospital in South-Central Texas.

Located downtown, this 190-plus-bed hospital serves more than 70,000 children annually from San Antonio, South Texas and around the world.

The hospital (in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine) is the only academic children's hospital in San Antonio.

Our highly specialized services meet the unique medical needs of children, from Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care to Children's Emergency Services, the latest treatments for deformities of the spine including titanium rib implants and halo traction, a Heart Center, a specialized asthma program, a highly regarded Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, and growing maternal services to include consultation, delivery, and maternal fetal medicine.

Basic computer knowledge required

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking radiographic images following established procedures. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
Maintains accurate radiology records as directed and logs all procedures completed. Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors according to specification of examination.
Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment. Participates in training employees in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
Follows the CHRISTUS Physician Group guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Maintains established CHRISTUS Physician Group policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission and Code of Ethics and supportive of CHRISTUS Physician Group's cultural diversity objectives.
Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent required
