    Main duties and responsibilities


    JOB PURPOSE:


    The purpose of the Accounting Clerk's position is to support the CFO and other accounting associates in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.

    The duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:


    • Analyze, verify and post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
    • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Support the monthly close process as needed
    • Prepare account reconciliations
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports
    • Perform special accounting projects and analysis as needed
    • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
    • Assist associates in other areas of accounting department as needed
    Requirements


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business OR equivalent experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
    • Excellent attendance record.
    • Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
    • The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
    • The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office software especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel; ability to work in and create spreadsheets
    • Good understanding of accounting cycle, specifically accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Experience with ERP and financial software
    • Must be a team player and have the ability to work and interact with associates/departments throughout the organization
    • Must have met 90 day new-hire requirement

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business
    • Experience in an accounting office of a large manufacturer
    • Experience using the accounting modules in K-Soft
    • Experience using Varial software

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    Activities and Safety Equipment


    • Required up to 1/3 of work time: Lifting, push/pulling, reaching / face shield/goggles, dust mask/respirator, hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses and high visibility vest
    • Required 1/3 to 1⁄2 of work time: Walking, climbing and bending
    • Required 2/3 of work time or more: Sitting, seeing, hearing, standing, dexterity, verbal and written communication
