- DayThis team is integral in developing present and leading edge USN weapons systems capabilities.
- Design, actualize, and launch embedded software/firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and similar environments.
- Architect Hardware solutions with Electrical Engineers and assist in schematic capture/board layouts.
- Integrate and test embedded software/firmware on embedded hardware.
- Identify and resolve software/firmware related hardware issues through debugging and testing processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplined engineering and non engineering team members.
- Create and maintain design specific technical, as well as formal, documentation.
- Interface directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status.
- Bachelor's and four (4) years or more experience .
- Familiarity with System Engineering concepts.
- Hands on troubleshooting using test equipment to help isolate problems and ability to generate solutions.
- Fluent in C/C++, VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience with Xilinx's FPGA and Development SuitesPlusses-PCB design with Mentor Graphics PADS Layout, Cadence OrCAD PCB Designer, Altium, or Eagle.
- Experience with MATLAB, data manipulation, processing, and visualization.
- Developing and executing test plans for electronic subsystems.
- Experience with soldering and debugging circuits.
- Hands on lab experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers etc.
- Experience with marine hardware including ROVs, UUVs, sonar, arrays, and transducers.
- Familiarity with National Instruments (NI) products including PXI hardware, LabVIEW, CVI, or TestStand.
- Experience with embedded operating systems such as Xilinx's PetaLinux, or RTOS.
- Familiarity with device drivers, on both bare metal and OS systems, for peripheral sensors/actuators and other devices.
- Experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, or CAN, and other technical standards such as LVDS and SSI.
