    About Us:

    The goal of Main Line Social Learning is to teach adolescents and adults the skills needed to achieve social success as they transition from school settings to adult environments. Our collaborative approach helps those with social learning challenges learn the skills and build the confidence to successfully navigate the social world.

    About the Role:

    An educator will provide non-classroom, socio-emotional instruction to clients on an individual basis for proactive or remedial purposes. An educator will work with clients remotely and will create lessons, maintain progress notes, and schedule future appointments. Educators will report directly to the company owner to provide appointment summaries, progress notes, and get feedback on instructional sessions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare lesson plans for instructional sessions according to clients' needs and goals
    • Maintain records of clients' progress, feedback, or performance, ensuring confidentiality of all records
    • Collaborate with clients, parents, teachers, or counselors to determine student needs, develop instructional plans, or assess student progress
    • Schedule appointments with clients or their parents
    • Provide feedback to clients and stakeholders using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence
    • Research or recommend books, software, or other learning materials to complement instructional sessions
    • Participate in training and development sessions to improve instructional practices or learn new techniques

    Requirements:

    • Background, training, and experience with education, special education, speech language pathology, counseling or related field
    • Knowledge of social learning challenges including related diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, social anxiety, and dual identification
    • In-depth knowledge of Social Thinking framework (required) as well as Zones of Regulation
    • Knowledge of young adulthood including college application process, college supports, interview skills, and job search process (preferred)
    • Knowledge of Google applications and use of online scheduling software
    • High level of professionalism
    • Able to develop positive rapport with clients remotely
    • On time, reliable, and dependable
    • Creative and able to work independently
    • Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
    • Internet connection
    • Must obtain personal liability insurance with company-chosen insurance carrier (paid for by company)
    • Must provide up to date PA State clearances (Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Check, Federal Criminal History Record)
