Gatiks Class 3-7 autonomous box trucks are commercially deployed in multiple markets including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.

    About the role:

We are seeking senior or staff research engineers for our localization and mapping team to build state-of-the-art mapping pipelines that combine data from a wide variety of sensors and localization algorithms that use these maps in real-time.

This role is critical to enhancing the precision, robustness, and reliability of our self-driving trucks.

You will be tasked with tackling some of the most challenging problems in autonomous navigation, working at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and machine learning.

    What you'll do:

Develop mapping algorithms and create a robust mapping pipeline that supports the building of high definition maps at large scaleInnovate in the area of localization, designing systems capable of centimeter-level accuracy using a blend of traditional and novel sensor fusion techniques, including but not limited to LIDAR, radar, cameras, and IMU dataImplement and optimize simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithms for dynamic and large-scale environments, ensuring robust performance under diverse weather and lighting conditionsContribute to the development of tools for map generation, simulation, and testing, enhancing the speed and efficiency of our mapping and localization pipelineWork closely with the perception, planning, and control teams to ensure seamless integration of the mapping and localization subsystems within the autonomous driving stackAnalyze and architect safety and redundancy in the localization systemOwn and drive highly visible performance metrics (e.g.

    latency, memory, bandwidth, power)
