    Pony Bird is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.

    PER DIEM

    FLEXIBLE HOURS

    HOURLY PAY RANGE OF $ $39.97

    What does a Physical Therapist do?

    • Provide direct therapy to individuals per physicians orders
    • Consultation with Direct Support Professionals, Program Managers and Nursing team
    • Train staff on newly implemented care options, therapies, and activities.
    • Review progress of individuals assigned in case load
    • Monthly notes and documentation
    • Implement physical therapy services as outlined in the individualized service plans with the goal of enhancing the performance of the individual, including improving flexibility, function, sensory-motor skills and mobility
    • Annual Individual Support Plan evaluation with objectives
    • Annual wheelchair and equipment recommendations and evaluations

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
    • Must have and maintain a license for Physical Therapy in the State of Missouri
    • Two years of Physical Therapy experience working with persons with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities (rehabilitation experience preferred with knowledge on wheelchair assessment and positioning)
    • Must maintain CEU's required for state licensure
    • Knowledge of current trends in the care and training of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the ability to apply those trends
    • Ability to communicate professionally in potentially stressful situations between staff, individuals, and the guardians of individuals served
    • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and Medication Aide Certifications, paid training provided
    • Ability to evacuate individuals served in the event of a fire, natural disaster, or another emergency
    • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
    • Ability to be flexible to provide the needs of the individuals served
    • Working knowledge and skill set to utilize multiple computer formats and systems
    • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a professional manner
