    Position Summary


    As a Service Technical Project Manager, you will apply advanced technical knowledge to the design, production, and implementation of Oceaneering Mobile Robotics.

    The Service Technical Project Manager provides technical leadership and oversight for service improvement projects under the direction of either the Service Manager or a Project Manager.


    The Service Technical Project Manager assists in defining and managing resource requirements, schedule, and cost for offers and projects under their cognizance.


    The Service Technical Project Manager guides the overall technical approach and provides direction for all other engineering disciplines throughout the project from initial concept to successful installation, warranty, and lifecycle maintenance.

    Additionally, your focus also lies in remote and onsite engineering support, providing technical solutions and pricing to upgrade and/or modify existing installations based on renewed Customer requirements, obsolescence, or system operational changes.

    Ultimately the Service Technical Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the correct technical solution is developed to meet the Customers' stated needs within the developed project schedule and budget.

    Duties & Responsibilities


    ESSENTIAL

    • Manage the entirety of service projects in relation to quality, schedule, and budget.
    • Responsible for supervision of project personnel which could include engineers, designers, draftsmen, technicians and/or administrative support.
    • Distribute/assign tasks to employees within various disciplines (System Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Installation, etc.) as guided by the project plan.
    • Monitor progress throughout project and ensure on-time delivery.
    • Set clear expectations with project team by defining project tasks and resource requirements. Lead project meetings and presentations with customers.
    • Monitor the scope agreements and negotiations on additional work.
    • Oversee risk analysis and final evaluation of projects.
    • Manage project budget to achieve as-bid or improve job profit.
    • Manage communications.
    • Plan and schedule project timelines.
    • Independently performs engineering tasks to completion that may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements and the need to coordinate the work of others.
    • Excellent technical judgment, and appreciable independent evaluation, creativity, and latitude in making decisions are expected.
    • Interacts with Customer technical representatives to define and manage Customer expectations.
    • Uses team management skills to lead the cross-discipline engineering groups during the conceptual phase of system development.
    • Will generate improvement concepts and technical solutions and develop these into offers.
    • Lead site teams and Technicians in the execution of technical work.
    • Travel to Customer facilities for technical working sessions, system reviews and system installations is required.

    ADDITIONAL

    • Develops specifications for system upgrades based on initial Customer requirements.
    • Develops rollout and test plans and acceptance criteria, oversees the test execution.
    • Facilitate and contribution to the creation of drawings, documentation, plans, manuals etc.
    • Continuously optimize the service processes by evaluating and making recommendations for improvements as well as the development of these improvements.
    • Look for process improvements within the adjacent departments and advice the teams on these.
    • Undertake continuous improvement and special projects as instructed by management.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Technical bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a technical project manager and/or 3-5 years' experience system engineer in similar industries.
    • Knowledge of logistics, material Handling and industrial processes.
    • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
    • Good business sense and ability to convert customer needs into clear and achievable specification requirements.
    • Must have commercial awareness and a commitment to customer satisfaction, while ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and profitability.
    • Work predominantly from the office and availability to travel to customer/supplier's project sites, if needed (travel will be required mainly within United States).
    • Ability to work in the United States and travel internationally.
    • Able to work independently.
    • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization.
    • Flexible attitude, prepared to execute tasks other than defined in this job description.
    DESIRED/COMPETENCIES

    • Customer service focused.
    • Possession of a US Passport.
    • Possession of an US driver's license.
    • Experience in managing documentation on MS Office Applications.
    • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Peoplesoft.
    • Understanding of Agile project management concepts
    Additional Information

    This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
