- The Technologist III will work under the supervision of the Technical Supervisor and the Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to perform all routine and advanced nuclear medicine procedures.
- The Nuclear Medicine Technologist III must also possess the required skills and judgment necessary to cross train into the area of PET/CT.
- This includes contrast administration, prevention and recognition of contrast reactions, post processing and reconstruction of exam data.
- Able to work independently as a lead technologist, assist in the handling of patient relations concerns, and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the technical supervisor.
- Assists with assessment, planning, and implementation of the daily schedule and delivery of patient care.
- Monitors equipment, and supplies inventory, and assists with daily charge review as required by technical supervisor.
- Technologists are responsible for educating the patient and/or family about the procedure, administering radiopharmaceuticals, positioning the patient for accurate and clear images, and providing post-procedure instructions.
- The technologist accurately documents all patient information in the appropriate systems.
- All Nuclear Medicine Technologist positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital-adjacent imaging center locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or higher. Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program is required.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of continuous experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Prior PET/CT experience is preferred.
- State of California Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine (CTNM) license
- AHA BLS Certification is required.
- Advanced certification in Nuclear Medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT-N or NMTCB-CNMT
- Advanced certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (required for techs performing PET/CT)
