Job DescriptionCome join our team to help support our mission by Doing the Most Good The Salvation Army is looking for a seasonal Custodianat our College for Officer Training in Chicago

Central Territory Headquarters LIJob Objective:
Maintain assigned buildings associated with the College for Officers Training (CFOT) through general cleaning and upkeep

Essential Functions:
General cleaning throughout the CFOT campus, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying of trash, washing windows and cleaning bathroomsMaintain and clean janitor closetsMaintain and clean visitor rooms for Brengle and other eventsDetail cleaning of brass throughout the campusClean and polish the elevator threshold and cabReport all maintenance related issues to the Property DirectorClean carpets throughout campus in the summer and as requested by supervisorEducation and Experience: High School Diploma / GED (preferred)

A minimum of 3 months experience in facility janitorial maintenanceSkills and Abilities:
Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnelBasic computer knowledge

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds occasionallyMust be able stand and walk for extended periods of timeAble to bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders, reach above shoulder level, crouch, push and pullHave vision acuity

Working Conditions:
Exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals and solvents.
