    Job Summary:


    We are seeking a Systems Engineer candidates who can support the FAA's 2nd level Systems Engineering group (AJM-25) at the FAA's William J.

    Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in the Atlantic City NJ area.

    We are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity who can provide support in the design, development, testing, implementation, and analysis of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) related technical products and systems.

    On a day-to-day basis, this role includes providing technical expertise in System Engineering and the Software Development Lifecycle to support the assessment of operational suitability/impact, and alignment with enterprise plans.

    The candidate shall provide a full range of engineering and technical support in the development and execution of general program planning and administration for various projects.

    In addition, the role involves providing decision support to mission customers in the form of reviewing technical documents and providing comments, preparing briefing for leadership, providing engineering support, and supporting the FAA's Program Management Organization (PMO).


    Responsibilities:

    • Support development, test, installation, implementation, and the integration of systems, components, and equipment
    • Support software engineering tasks for software design, development testing, maintenance, and related software activities
    • Support all interface of National Airspace System (NAS) requirements and activities associated with identification of threats
    • Provide indepth analysis of FAA security processes and procedures and activities
    associated with developing solutions to prevent NAS and other systems from unauthorized access or sabotage as well as ensure the stability of systems against a security threat in the operational environment

    • Support the AJM25 organization 2nd level Systems Engineering and program office in data gathering and preparing responses to internal and external stakeholders, GAO and or other audits
    • Develop, maintain, and support repositories on the FAA's Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN), and will grant access permissions as per the PMO, oversee submissions and uploaded documentation, and monitor user activities
    • Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations, standards, and orders sufficient to ensure compliance by the prime contractor; knowledge of acquisition/procurement processes (federal or corporate) and experience in implementation of systems or upgrades to systems

    Requirements:

    • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
    • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Strong selfstarter requiring minimal supervision
    • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature
    • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals

    Education and Certifications:
    years of FAA experience is desired with an understanding in the following areas:
    Ô- Systems Engineering
    Ô- Project management or related experience supporting a project management organization (as described in the activities above)
    Ô- NAS Air Traffic Control Systems
    Ô- Knowledge of FAA's NextGen programs and initiatives

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or other Science
    • Experience with FAA configuration management change control process for the NAS and be capable of generating case files for project technical issues
