    ***The primary purpose of the Medical Director/Physician is to provide advanced and/or specialized treatment services to the patients of the Walter B. This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Generating medical treatment plans and collaborating with multidiscipline treatment team members.
    Assisting with policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting bodies.
    Participation in a call rotation to provide clinical coverage on nights and weekends.
    Provides supervision of physician extenders and teaching of residents and students.

    Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC:(1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital.

    Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery".

    Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties:
    (1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders.

    Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:

    Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general, medicine.
    Proven ability to assess and interpret laboratory results, clinical data and information relative to the patient's condition.
    Proven ability to supervise and guide work performance of residents and staff.

    **Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
    Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

    A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

    An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
    (2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
    (3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
