    SHIPPING RECEIVING LEAD JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Lead to become an integral part of our team

    This position is located in Houston, Texas.

    Job Summary:

    The Shipping Receiving Lead will manage daily shipping & receiving operations to ensure optimal productivity, which includes maintaining timely shipment, delivery, and receival of all orders according to company and/or departmental policies.

    Management Responsibilities:

    • Provides leadership and guidance to Shipping Receiving personnel
    • Directs assigned tasks and provide assistance as needed
    • Assist with Performance Evaluations on reports.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Ensure all safety procedures/processes are always followed; All safety issues should be immediately reported to Plant Management.
    • Read shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedules.
    • Notify management or contact external customers in the case of defects on materials for repairs
    • Play a mediator's role between shipping units and vendors/customers in the case of discrepancies in shipments, and reconcile with the appropriate bodies
    • Inspect loading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications
    • Evaluate order/invoice accuracy
    • Responsible for managing financial transactions related to shipping services; budget control
    • Identify opportunities for enhancement and suggest ways of improvement to top management of the organization
    • Direct the flow of items from preparation to shipment
    • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company policies regarding shipments
    • Collaborate with other departments to optimize processes, increase productivity, and control costs
    • Train direct reports on any new policies or procedures
    • Conduct Job Receipts in Syspro (not job closures)
    • Movement of parts/assemblies from inspection required department(s)
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software (SysPro) as necessary to complete logs or records.
    • Excellent organizational, communication skills, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
    • Works well as a productive member of a team
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
    • Must pass background check and drug screening

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
    • Minimum 2 years leadership experience required (experience in a manufacturing environment) preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years shipping receiving experience preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years full-time employment history required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
    • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
    • Must wear required PPE as directed.
