    Description
    Our client is currently seeking a Structural engineer
    This position is onsite in Melbourne, FL - MUST be local
    This is a direct hire role.

    This job will have the following responsibilities:
    • Under limited supervision - Work directly with operators/repair centers and coordinate with Aviation to produce structural repair solutions, modifications to wings, fuselage, skins, fairings, control surfaces, structural attachments, etc.
    • Under limited supervision - Apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to propose suitable dispositions supported by appropriate data and justifications
    • Provide validation for documents delivered to customers, such as disposition letters (based on stress/design office validations only)
    • Under limited supervision - Ensure FAA and EASA requirements by supplying substantiation as needed for repairs or modifications to aircraft structures
    • Under limited supervision - Be the interface with our customers to support the implementation of approved modifications and repairs
    • Under limited supervision - Coordinate with internal departments, e.g., Spares, Technical Support, Programs, to ensure efficient management of customer's structural repair projects
    • Manage on duty after-hours AOG projects
    • Attend and present at M&O seminars technical sessions
    • Complete the exchange program with DA Structure Repair team
    • Work on special projects/additional duties relevant to this job level as assigned by management
    • Develop ASC or M&O presentations
    • On duty rotations for after-hours AOG projects (approx. 1 week every 5 to 6 weeks)
    • Typical office environment, with regular hangar/ramp visits
    • Daily use of personal computer, desk and mobile phones
    • Moderate noise levels when on ramps/in hangars
    • Ability to access all aircraft structural areas using stands, ladders, stairs, or squatting under wings, fuselage
    • International travel to various facilities (St Cloud, Merignac, Martignas...)
    • Travel as necessary to attend M&O seminar
      Qualifications & Requirements:
      • BS degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering required
      • Equivalent education may be considered
      • Three years experience with metal and composite repair engineering solutions
      • Three years minimum experience with structural repairs
      • Three years experience working with structural repair manuals and illustrated parts catalogues
      • Equivalent experience may be considered
      • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers in a professional manner (oral and written communication)
      • Good project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively
      • Advanced technical writing skills
      • PC computer and CAD drawing experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Familiar with manipulation of CATIA V5 models - Familiar with Finite
      • Element / 3D Modeling using CATIA.
      • Must be a team player with a cooperative and helpful nature.
      • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
      • Experience with FAR 25 Airworthiness Standards: Transport Category Aircraft and/or MMPDS (formally MIL- Handbook 5)
      • Trained in critical thinking and public presentation.
      • Experience with actual sheet metal repair or laboratory work.
      • French language skills desired
      • Pilot's and/or A&P license
