Job title: System Administrator with Security Clearance

Description

System Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of the infrastructure team, you will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the data center environment and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and monitor data center environment and equipment.
Perform hardware/software/firmware installation and upgrades per established policy.
Configure systems to comply with current STIG per established guidance.
Create or modify system folder structure based on data owner request.
Recommend redesign/configuration of network/system devices.
Create/modifies/deletes security groups as required to ensure systems' active directory structure and file structure is maintained according to established policy.
Conduct routine maintenance on infrastructure according to established approved policy.
Refresh/replaces and configure existing hardware according to operational requirements.
Perform daily system monitoring verifying integrity and availability of all resources.
Verify completion of scheduled jobs (i.e., backups, event log transfer, etc.).
Ensure backup operations successfully complete and conduct off-site operation of spare media.
Conduct ongoing performance tuning resource optimization and memory reallocation.
Repair/recovers from hardware or software failures and communicates with appropriate personnel.

Security Support:

Investigate and analyze feasibility of system requirements and develop system specifications.
Provide critical system administration support during incident response.
Monitor available resources providing warnings of system vulnerabilities or attacks.
Isolate individual systems and necessary files for forensic analysis.
Add and remove users in active directory granting permissions to transfer removable media.
Enable/disable physical access to transfer removable media at system endpoints.
Report all information system violations of corporate policies to ISSM/O.
Coordinate all equipment moves with ISSM/O.
Secure audit repository from general users making accessible to auditors only.
Configure applications to alert in event of audit processing failure and record event.
Ensure audit repository is included in weekly backup.
Perform antivirus/software update and patch management per ISSM/O direction.
Ensure network/workstation is connected to NTP server/time is verified weekly.
Ensure all remote maintenance connections are approved prior to establishing connection.
Monitor remote maintenance connection to ensure only required actions are taken.
Ensure all remote maintenance connections are terminated at end of session.
Sanitize any equipment per ISSM/O direction prior to release for DRMO.
Monitor and control non-local maintenance and diagnostic activities.
Notify ISSM/O of planned/out-of-cycle operational configuration changes to system.

Account Management:

Create/modify accounts based on request documentation provided by ISSM/O.
Monitor accounts for inactivity and report to ISSM/O.
Place ISSM/O in auditor-only security group to allow restricted access of audit logs.
Assist users with initial configuration of accounts.

Additional Responsibilities:

Provide technical guidance as non-voting member of configuration change board.
Develop/maintain standards and procedures related to network/system administration.
Research/recommend innovative and automated approaches for network/system administration tasks identifying approaches that leverage current resources.
Provide technical expertise regarding network/system administration for system design.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity and contingency planning.
Serve as member of COMSEC Team.

We require the following skills and qualifications:

Current active Top Secret SCI Security Clearance Required.
BS in Information Technology, Computer Science Minimum of 2+ years of System Administrator experience in a TS/SCI environment supporting a government customer.
Current CI Polygraph or ability to complete in first 6 months is required.
Must be willing and able to be SAP briefed.
Certification level to meet DOD Directive 8570.01-M IAM II requirements.
