    Plus 1.50 shift premiumJob Summary:
    A Machinist is a skilled tradesperson who operates machine tools to create precise metal parts or components.

    They work with a variety of materials, such as steel, aluminum, brass, or plastics, to create parts that meet specific requirements.


    Duties/Responsibilities:
    Operates various types of conventional, special purpose, and machining centers to fabricate metal and non-metal parts.

    Analyzes blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine the dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements for the finished workpiece.

    Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining processes.

    Chooses, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, and polishers.

    Calculates and adjusts controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth, as well as the angle of cut.

    Monitors and adjusts machine operation to detect malfunctions, out-of-tolerance machining, and makes necessary adjustments to machine controls or control media.

    Ensures the finished workpiece conforms to specified requirements.
    Sets up and runs a trial to confirm the accuracy of machine settings.
    Checks dimensions and alignment of assemblies.
    Conducts minor preventative maintenance on equipment.
    Records and tracks measurement data according to control plans.
    Maintains a clean work area.

    Adheres to company and departmental policies, health and safety regulations, ISO & IATF requirements, lean manufacturing principles, and proper housekeeping.

    Performs other tasks as assigned.


    Education and Experience:
    One year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.

    The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
